Dracula: A pretty nice resume of the book

• The story of Dracula happens in 6 months
• It happens between Transylvania (Romania), Whitby and London
• The main characters are: Dracula (of course), Jonathan and Mina Harker, Lucy, Arthur, Doc. Van Helsing, Renfield, Doc. John Seward and Quincey Morris
• The book is wrote with letters and diaries that the personages write to each others.

Jonathan goes to Transylvania because of Mr. Hawkins asks him to, to help count Dracula buying a place in London. Is the count's castle, where Jonathan stays, there were something strange, as himself suspected. His suspicions were confirmed when he noticed that he were a prisoner locked in a vampire's home, alone, where plus him and the count only were living there three others vampire girls that jut didn't eat him all because of the count, who stopped them. 

One day, in a mix of insane courage and despair Jonathan decides to climb the steep wall of the outside of the castle, and go down to count bedroom, what he was successfully done and, even there haven't find anything that could help him escape (like a key) he found the count crypt full of soil in boxes where inside the vampire slept.

The despaired man tries to write a letter to his lovely Mina and another to Mr. Hawkin, something in which he haven't success once that Dracula found out and get them away, however the monster asks Jonathan to write 3 other letters to announce his come back to UK and preparing that way the man's disappearance.

Dr. John Seward, a psychiatric that lives in his hospital,  talks about his mentally sick man, Renfield, who appreciates taking the life of animals, specifically eating them.

Mina goes see her friend Lucy in Whitby, where one night arrives to the port a ship led by a dead man and a dead crew. A big animal (that looked like a dog) came out of this ship that, will know to be Dracula. The last moments of the crew are described on the logbook of the captain. 

Lucy is a sleepwalker and in one of her attacks she goes to the cemetery (the favorite place of the two friends) and there the vampire bites her, what makes her get sick.

Jonathan writes to Mina explaining that he is sick (but safe) in a hospital. Mina goes from Whitby to Hull to see her fiancee that is recovering from a shock that experienced in Transylvania, there the two persons get married.

Arthur asks to John see Lucy because she stills sick. John don't understands the reason of girl's sickness and calls an old teacher, professor Van Helsing that came from Amsterdam to study Lucy's case.

Lucy gets worse, lost so much blood that Arthur, John and Van Helsing have to give her their blood. She need to be watched while sleeping so that Dracula don't suck more blood from her. In a certain night, because of a certain oversight, that didn't happened and (as Lucy write in a letter) her mother dies, and also herself, even with Quincey's blood, dies, what makes her become a vampire.

In the regional newspaper are published few news about a "white lady" that catches children to suck their blood. This lady appears to be LUCY!

Jonathan sees Dracula younger than ever in a street in London and starts to be in shock again, because in means that he is being "eating well".

Mina finally reads the diary that Jonathan wrote in Transylvania and that gave her in the hospital;  Van Helsing says to them both that everything that is written there is the pure truth what make Jonathan relax a bit because now he knows that his brain haven cheated him.

Van Helsing, to prove that Lucy isn't completely dead goes with John to her grave and opens it, but she isn't there. However in the next morning she is back there and even prettier than in the night of her death. The 4 men goes to there once night more and Arthur gains courage to kill once and for all his beloved girland give her the peace that she deserves, driving a stake through her heart.

Jonathan and Mina rewrite and organize all the information that they have about the vampire in John's hospital that is neighbor of Carfax, the house of Dracula.

The 5 men goes to Carfax to sterilize the boxes where the count hides himself during the day (when he is vulnerable) and they found that the boxes aren't all there.  

Renfield dies after let Dracula in the hospital to bite Mina and get his revenge, given also to her his blood so they both get connected. 

They find and destroy all the boxes except one that is in a ship ready to leave with Dracula, they almost can kill him in Picadilly, but the crafty monster can escape. They find that when they hypnotize Mina she can get into count's brain and found out that he is leaving to Varna, however the opposite also happens and Dracula finds the planes of the friends and changes his, making (with their powers) the ship goes to Galatz running away from them. However they don't give up and go after him and can finally kill him, freeing the world from a huge evil even with the death of Lucy and Quincey.

This story is really amazing to read because of the intelligence of the way that it's written, that was really something that I enjoy when was reading because is like you are in the head of the personage that writes that part of the book, feeling their feelings, thinking their thoughts, experience the story as they're experiencing.

AMAZING! 

• The best movie to watch about this book is "Bram Stoker's Dracula", it is the most faithful to the book.
